April 27
Hello there all you wonderful people. We have a surgery date: May 8. Leslie will be at UCSF for her back surgery. At this point we don't know how long she will stay there, but at least 3-4 days. Please keep her in your prayers. Can you imagine how hard it is to wait 11 days and wonder how it will turn out. These are difficult days. Pray for strength and peace. Thanks.

April 22
Hello friends! I am back from my trip and I visited Leslie today. We are still in the midst of the second opinion and it is more of a who, what, how question than an if question. Will keep you posted on the progress. Encouragement is always appreciated in its various forms. And many prayers too. As you can imagine this is a difficult event for Leslie to face.

April 10
Dear Bloggers, guess what? I am going out of the country for a week so this will be the last update for awhile. Leslie is in the midst of getting a second opinion about back surgery although I think it is a done deal. We still do not have a date for that however. She is progressing slowly. She needs lots of prayer and encouragement as this is a long road ahead still. So cards, phone calls, and visits as she is up for them are all appreciated. Meals may be needed also. Please call. She needs us. She needs the Lord's help and strength and most of all His love. Pour it on.

April 6
Well Leslie is home and there is some good news and bad news. We went to the dr. on Tues. and the good news is that he removed the cast and her ankle fracture has healed. It is a little stiff, but now she can work on flexing it and strengthening it. The hard news is that the dr. recommended surgery on her spine. The compression fracture is the same but causing a lot of pain, even after this amount of time and with bracing. So Leslie is in the midst of getting a second opinion just to be sure of all her options. Her hypotension seems to be resolved and that is good. I think moving home has been good but as with all changes there are challenges too. Visits, cards, phone calls, meals are all appreciated. Be sure to call first.

April 3 On the Home Front
So sorrrry I have been shirking my blog duty. I have been at Leslie's HOME taking care of her and have forgotten all of you. Leslie arrived home on the 31st and we sat at the table and had a celebration lunch! It was so good to be home. But yes there have been some challenges too. Physically she is dealing with postural hypotension which is a common problem when you have been in bed a long time. Emotionally it is good to be home but hard to have your family room turned into the bedroom. Les is not quite able to go up the stairs yet. We have some great home health personnel coming by and taking good care of her.I am leaving tomorrow and I am sad already. I would love to be here for the "duration" but I have other obligations. Visits are welcome. Bring a meal and come by - after you call. Thanks for your continued love and prayers.
