I spent most of the day in the bay area. Unfortunately some of it was waiting to talk to the intake RN at Summit South which did prove to be a very valuable conversation. As it turns out Leslie is in need of being in a facility like Elmwood to go at the pace that she is able to handle. From Elmwood she will probably go to Herrick, an acute rehab facility, which will offer a more strenuous program. Both Leslie and I met with her doctor at Elmwood and were impressed with his compassion, demeanor and plan for Leslie's recovery. When you visit Leslie at Elmwood, you may not be impressed with the facility, but it is close to her home and friends and that is strong medicine indeed. Visits welcome. By the way, Leslie said no flowers please. Cards are great.
