Sorry I am so late in getting this out. I have not been at the hospital today and am relying on others for info. Good news, exclamation point, hereafter known as EP. Leslie's surgery went well and she is back in her room #17 ICU. PEEP is down to 6EPEPEPEPEPEPEP. Normal PEEP is 5 so we are almost there. Nothing else new that I know of. After surgery she was groggy, but is opening her eyes. I will check with the noc RN in awhile, but unless they know me, they will not tell me much over the phone. Mom and I are going to see her tomorrow, so will update this more thoroughly at that time. As always please interceding in prayer for my sweet sis.
Thanks. JKH, Head Cheerleader

It is encouraging to hear that the peep is down to 6. The next step will be to bring it down to 5 with the fiO2 down to 21-30%. At that point they can consider a trial on a T-piece for a day before extubation. The T-piece is hard work and will let us all know if she is ready for the tube to be out. Isn't our God good? Hallelujah!!!
