Feb 13 even better than yesterday

Dear Fans, Leslie is even better today. Ray said she is
WRITING
on a board and
NOW THE DOCTORS SAY SHE NEEDS VISITORS
So put your running shoes on and get yourself over to Highland. No visitors who are sick (duh) and please wash your hands with the antibacterial foam before you touch her
(you would be surprised how many germs are hitching a ride on your hands)
I can't come visit until Friday so give her hand a squeeze and tell her her sis Jamie loves her
Wonderful News
Please PRAY that she will get off the ventilator by the end week EP EP

Hi,Before I start off with our excitement about Leslie's improved condition, let me introduce myself. My name is Anita McCann and I am the mom of Luc McCann who knows Alice from UCSB and is in Chile on the same program that Alice was on. We met Leslie at the Chilean Consulate on Jan. 16th, when Luc was getting his Visa....I thought he was the last kid to do so, but in walked a great kid called Harris, also a friend of Alice's who asked my son if he knew Alice and yes he did.....and then in walks Alice with Leslie!! All trying to get their visas a week before they were to leave!! Leslie and I had a very nice introduction and talked about possibly being in Chile at the same time to see the kids and the country in April. Luc e-mailed us right away with the news about Leslie's accident and that Alice had to leave and asked us to pray for Leslie and the family....and Luc does not ask anyone to pay for anyone usually...so I knew he had been affected by this news and he said he was worried about Alice(who I think is absolutely adorable from the litte time I met her at the consulate that day....a real pistol and I was so happy she was going to be part of the Chile group!)...so, being the sort of Catholic/Buddhist I am I sent prayers out and good thoughts of healing. I told my mom who lives in the Bay Area about what happened and that Luc wanted prayers for the family and my mom went right down to the Catholic Church in San Anselmo and prayed for Leslie(not knowing her name as I had forgotten and could not find the card Leslie gave me in the consulate that day!)and lit a candle....and we've kept it up. Luc has reported the news of the situation to us when he hears anything, but today I had to call Brooke Manning at the EAP office in Santa Barbara about something else and I asked if she knew about Leslie's condition....she told me she was going to call Alice to see how things were and then I got an e-mail from her with this blog site, so I had to write!!! We are so happy that improvement is happening, for Leslie and for all of you. You have all been in our hearts and prayers, not knowing who the "you" were really, except for Alice and her mom. And we are so sorry that this ever had to happen. I know it has been such a difficult time, but you have a lot of people out here pulling for Leslie and we just hope that things keep improving. I know the kids in Chile were so sad tha Alice will not be with them for this adventure(I think they felt how quickly life can change and I know Luc felt very far away at the time), but she is where she needs to be and I know all the kids will be so happy to get the news of improvement. I have sent an e-mail to our son to pass the good news around...but I am sure Harris has been informed too. We wish you all the best and for continued health and well being for Leslie and will keep all the prayers and healing thoughts coming her way. I will hope to see Leslie some time again, when she is well. In the meantime I send love to you all and to Leslie and I am so glad to have this log to check on how she is doing! anita mccann, ketchum, idaho
