Well friends, it is as hard for me as it is for you not to be with Leslie today but I will pass along the great news of what I have heard:
1. Leslie moved to a new room, number 4, in ICU. I think it is a good move because the room she had was right across from the nurses station and it was VERY noisy.
2. She is eating a bit of real food!
3. I think she got out of bed and in a chair. (That was the plan but I am not positive that it happened.)
4. She is only on oxygen while sleeping. Unbelievable!
5. She got a bath today (probably a bed bath) - I am sure that felt good.
That's it folks, better and better, farther and farther down the road of healing and restoration. Keep praying..........

I visited Leslie this morning, and was so glad to see how well she's doing (I also saw the very long and very open incision, plus the odd sort of foam-and-vacuum set-up to help pull it closed). She was awake, and able to whisper easily--a couple of times when I couldn't hear clearly (3 nurses in the room doing stuff), she was able to raise her voice a little. Much handholding, brow wiping, love drenching. Told her at length about the cheerleaders she has and how we'll all walk beside her the rest of the way. She said she remembers the accident but (obviously) not the week after--no loss, I suggested.
Thanks, Jaimie, for keeping us all posted on where she is and how she's doing--it makes a tremendous difference. P.S. Nurses in the ICU are terrific.
